Bluefields is a city in Nicaragua on the Caribbean Coast with many street children and few resources to care for them. By the grace of God, we (Crosscurrent Church) have developed a true relationship with a beautiful Nicaraguan church (Verbo) that exemplifies a passionate heart for their city. Our visits with Paster Ed and his wife Ligia have encouraged our faith and allowed us to meet and fall in love with some very special children. We’ve painted the kids’ home, we contribute to their feeding center, visited Ed’s church plants, and supported Coco.
I just happened to run across a Canadian blog regarding Bluefields. Crosscurrent gets a shout out! Check out how their desire to serve Bluefields is so similar to what’s coming out of Crosscurrent here in Virginia Beach. It is so amazing to see how God can connect the hearts of people across borders and oceans just as well as across our city and neighborhoods.
Whether or not you got the chance to meet Pastor Ed during his Virginia Beach visit with us summer before last, you’re sure to enjoy reading more about the ”feeding center,” the Bluefield’s kids, and Pastor Ed’s ministry. I especially loved hearing the “Life Stories” of our Nicaraguan brothers and sisters.
